Geoffrey A. Manne is the co-founder (with former FTC Commissioner Joshua Wright) and Executive Director of the International Center for Law and Economics (ICLE). An expert in the economic analysis of law, Geoff specializes in antitrust, telecommunications, consumer protection, intellectual property, and technology policy. Prior to founding ICLE, Geoff was a law professor at Lewis & Clark Law School. From 2006-2009, he took a leave from teaching to develop Microsoft’s legal and economics academic outreach program. In 2015 Geoff was appointed to the FCC’s Consumer Advisory Committee, where he co-chairs the Broadband Working Group. He has testified on several occasions before Congress and at the FCC, and he regularly files written comments and amicus briefs on key antitrust, IP, and telecommunications issues.
Geoff is the editor, with Joshua Wright, of Competition Policy and Intellectual Property Law Under Uncertainty: Regulating Innovation from Cambridge University Press. His publications have appeared in numerous journals, including the Journal of Competition Law and Economics, the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy and the Columbia Business Law Journal.
